Batuu 101: Kat Saka's Kettle - Edge of the Galaxy

Kat Saka’s Kettle, located inside the Market is an eclectic food stall where travelers can get colorful sweet and savory popcorn.

Location

Kat Saka’s Kettle is located in the Black Spire Market just past Ronto Roasters. If you are coming from the entrance of Batuu the Market is just past the X-wing to the left. If you are coming from the Black Spire Outpost area Kat Saka’s Kettle is up the stair past the Millennium Falcon. To the right is Docking Bay 7 and to the left is Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Just past Dok-Ondar’s to the right is Ronto Roasters, which is the entrance to the Market and right past Ronto Roasters on the right-hand side is Kat Saka’s.

The Atmosphere

This not so ordinary popcorn stand has several spices hanging on walls, containers stacked along the sides of the queue that give it a real galactic market feel. Kat Saka is a collector of spices so it’s good to see her putting them to good use. Travelers of the galaxy can stop by for a fun spin of popcorn. Kat Saka’s signature snack is called Outpost Mix.

Outpost mix consists of purple (sweet) and red (spicy) popcorn. The sweet purple popcorn has a fruity flavor to it. The spicy red popcorn isn’t extremely spicy. It has a mild chili powder heat. The mix of the two gives your mouth an interesting flavor profile. The popcorn costs $6.49 and comes in a small paper bag. They do offer another option travelers can get their popcorn in an MSE-6 Series Repair Droid container for $19.99.

The Story

The Kettle is owned by Kat Saka, a Batuuan farmer who is known for collecting spices from around the galaxy. Many of these spices were used in the creation of her famous Outpost Mix.
