Batuu 101: Milk Stand

Looking for a unique and refreshing drink that local Batuuans love? How about some Blue or Green Milk? Do not be fooled, these drinks are not made with milk at all. The blue variety of the  “milk” is supposed to be from a creature called a bantha and the green comes from a creature called a Thala-sirens. Both drinks are plant-based and are very nutritious.

Location

The Milk Stand is located in the First Order area of Batuu. If you are coming from the main entrance of Galaxy’s Edge you would go past the X-Wing. Stay to the right of the market. Go past Ronto Roasters and the Droid Depot. When you get to a set of bathrooms it’s just down the way on the left.

The Atmosphere

The Milk Stand is just that its an open stand. There are large round glass balls hanging from the ceiling that appear to contain blue and green milk. The local Batuuans that work at the Milk Stand are friendly and are more than willing to help you make a decision.

What Can I Buy?

Blue Milk – $7.99: Blue Milk is a semi-frozen beverage that contains coconut and rice milk as the main ingredients.  The flavor is sweet but not overwhelmingly. Blue Milk is flavored with dragon fruit, pineapple, lime, and watermelon. I have tried this drink and find it to be a little chalky. I also get a hint of blueberry flavor even though it isn’t listed as an ingredient. None of the flavors stand out to me. They are all very subtle.

Green Milk – $7.99: Green Milk is a semi-frozen beverage that contains coconut milk and rice milk as the main ingredients. The flavor isn’t as sweet as the blue version. Green Milk is flavored with citrus flavors that feature mandarin orange, passion fruit, grapefruit, and orange blossom. I have tried this drink and I like this one a lot better than Blue Milk. It does not have the chalky aftertaste like the Blue version. The flavors again are very subtle and none of them stood out to me.

Blue Milk w/ alcohol – $14.00: Blue Milk with alcohol is not as frozen as the regular version. The alcoholic version is the same it just contains rum and comes in a square-shaped cup instead of the round one that the non-alcoholic version comes in. I found this drink to be much better tasting than the non-alcoholic version. It did not have the chalky taste. You do need to stir this drink up good because they pour the alcohol in after it’s in the cup and it tends to float on the top. You will get a big shot of rum if you forget to stir it up.

Green Milk w/ alcohol – $14.00: Green Milk with alcohol is not as frozen as the regular version. The alcoholic version is the same it just contains tequila and comes in a square-shaped cup instead of the round one that the non-alcoholic version comes in. I have tried this drink and I really like it. The tequila adds just the right amount of salty to the subtle citrus flavors. This drink needs to be stirred really well before you take a sip. They pour the tequila on top of the frozen concoction and if you don’t stir it really well tequila is all you can taste.

Overall, I recommend the Green version of this drink with or without alcohol. I found the flavors to be really refreshing. I like the citrus undertones the drink offers much better than the subtle fruit flavor of the Blue version. I recommend if you are planning a trip to Batuu in the future to stop by the Milk Stand and give Blue or Green Milk a try. Let us know what you think!
