Picture Walk: Star Wars at Disney Springs – 6/17/20
We recently took a trip to Disney Springs and visited the two Star Wars stores at Disney Springs: the Star Wars Trading Post and the Star Wars Galactic Outpost. Both stores feature various types of Star Wars collectibles and gifts.
As we entered the Star Wars Trading Post we noticed several COVID-19 precautions in place. First, we saw The Droid Factory was closed. Before the global COVID-19 pandemic guests could build custom droid action figures. As part of Disney’s response to COVID-19 and its ongoing efforts to keep cast members and guests safe the Droid Factory is closed.
As we made our way through the store we spotted some of the new Mandalorian merchandise. The Star Wars Trading Post had two different Baby Yoda tumblers and a Mandalorian coffee cup.
We love it when we see Star Wars artwork. The Star Wars Trading Post had several unframed prints featuring several iconic characters such as Kylo Ren and Stormtroopers. We also noticed something surprising. We quickly spotted the Droid Black Series Figure collection that is normally only available inside Galaxy’s Edge. The Black Series collection features BB-8, R2-D2, C-3PO, and DJ R3X and is priced at $69.99.
At Star Wars Trading Post we spotted a variety of different t-shirt and spirit jersey styles.
Inside the store, there is normally a lightsaber building station where guests can build custom plastic toy lightsabers, modeled after some of their favorite Jedi and Sith. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Disney had closed this experience to guests. On the carpet throughout the store, we observed orange tape and signed that promoted social distancing protocols.
Before the end of our trip to Disney Springs, we made a stop at the Star Wars Galactic Outpost. Just like at the Star Wars Trading Post the lightsaber building station was closed due to COVID-19 precautions.
The Star Wars Galactic Outpost had similar merchandise like the Star Wars Trading Post. We did spot pre-built plastic toy lightsabers and a Darth Vader costume for kids.
We were again surprised to see Galaxy’s Edge exclusive merchandise available for purchase. The Star Wars Galactic Outpost had all three sets of the Black Series Figure collections. Guests can purchase the Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run collection, The First Order collection, and The Droid collection for $69.99 each.
The Star Wars Galactic Outpost carried more Mandalorian merchandise. We spotted several t-shirts, socks, and a Baby Yoda spirit jersey.
The Star Wars Galactic Outpost had a larger variety of Star Wars unframed art prints.
Throughout the store we noticed the same orange tape and signs promoting social distancing protocols. We also saw a touchless hand sanitizer dispenser at the entrance to the store.
At the register there was a piece of plexiglass to protect both the cast member working the register and guests.
Next to the register was a penny press machine. Guests can buy individual pennies for $1 or get the whole set for $5. All the pennies feature different Star Wars symbols and characters.
