NEW Droid Depot App Brings Galaxy’s Edge to Your Home
In celebration of Star Wars Day (May 4th) Disney has released a new Droid Depot app. Disney’s new app allows your droid to come to life and interact with you at home. Here is how it works.
What Can the BB and R Unit Droids Do?
If you’ve built a BB or R unit droid at the Droid Depot then you know that your droid interacts with elements throughout Galaxy’s Edge. Now you can have that experience at home. You can design your own droid dance moves and have your droid dance to a galactic jam brought to you by everyone’s favorite droid DJ, DJ R3X from Oga’s Cantina in Galaxy’s Edge.
Younglings, Padawans, and Jedi alike can use strategy mode to play games such as tic-tac-toe with your droid at various levels of difficulty. Test your strategy skills and try to beat your custom droid at these fun games.
Don’t have a Droid?
No worries, Disney thought of that as well. There are two options to choose from. You can purchase a pre-built BB or R unit droid from Shopdisney.com or you can design your own custom virtual droid using the free app.
Pre-Built BB and R Unit Droids
For a limited time, you can purchase pre-built BB and R unit droids from shopdisney.com. These droids come with an interactive remote just like the ones you can build at the Droid Depot in Galaxy’s Edge. Once your droid arrives at your home you can sync it with the free app and begin playing.
Digital Custom Droid
Don’t have the extra cash to buy a pre-built droid? Disney is also offering you a chance to build a custom digital droid. The digital droid can be easily programmed by any Jedi, Sith Lord, or Rebel. You can customize your droid by them by name, see their profiles, and pilot them on a virtual path around your home. While your digital droid is exploring your home you can activate sounds and maneuvers using the app.
