Exciting news for Star Wars fans! As part of the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, which debuted in theatres on May 21, 1980, a new Star Wars book is being released. This new book which is titled A Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back is part of the As part of the anthology series A Certain Point of View.
What We Know So Far
The new book will feature 40 short stories from 40 different authors retelling the classic sequel stories through the eyes of background characters. The stories will be told from the point of view of heroes, villains, droids, and creatures. A Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back is set for release on November 10th.
For a Good Cause
All participating authors have waived any compensation so that all proceeds can be donated to charity. All profits will be donated to First Book, a leading nonprofit that provides new books, learning materials, and other essentials to educators and organizations serving children in need. Penguin Random House and Disney/Lucasfilm will donate an additional $100,000 each to First Book. This charitable donation will support First Book and its mission and is valued at $1,000,000.
