REVIEW: New Disney Star Wars Face Masks
In late April Disney released new Disney themed face masks. The masks were only available on shopdisney.com until Disney Springs reopened on May 20, 2020. The Disney face masks come in a variety of styles themed after classic Disney characters, Disney princesses, Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar. We recently took a trip to Disney Springs and picked up a few Disney Star Wars face masks. Here is what we thought.
Quality
The quality of the Disney Star Wars face masks is really good. The designs are thought out and represent Disney level quality. We purchased the two Star Wars design options Baby Yoda, and various Star Wars symbols. The Baby Yoda design features Baby Yoda sipping from a cup of broth. The mask itself is double layered with a white piece of cloth used as backing. The mask secures to your face by two ear loops. The stitching is done well and the masks are machine washable.
The Star Wars symbol design features the Rebel Alliance, the Empire, bounty hunters, and the Star Wars logo. The symbols are white on a blue background. Like the Baby Yoda design, the mask has a backing layer and two ear loops to secure it to your face. All of the masks come in two sizes at Disney Springs large and medium. The large size is adult size and the medium is sized for kids. If you have a smaller child you may want to order online and get a small.
Comfort
Since COVID-19 precautions have become our new normal we have become experts about face masks. Depending on the fabric face masks can be irritating and hard to breathe in. Plus we live in Florida and the weather does not cooperate with a face covering. Sweating can be an issue due to the heat.
Good news the Disney Star Wars face masks are comfortable. They fit nicely over your mouth and nose. They are made of an easy to breathe through soft fabric. The ear loops are also comfortable too. A big thing for us when it comes to face coverings is how they secure to your face. We have tried masks that tie on or have elastic ear loops and those can be very uncomfortable especially for kids over long periods of time. The Disney face masks have ear loops with elastic but the elastic is covered by a soft fabric that doesn’t cause discomfort.
If you are a man with facial hair you probably have experienced itchy and extra sweating due to face coverings. The Disney face masks are so breathable that those irritations are limited.
Cost
The Disney face masks are reasonably priced too. At Disney Springs you can get four masks for $20 or pay $6 each. In my opinion for what you are getting both of these options are great deals.
Disney Parks Reopening
Remember that when Disney Parks reopen later this month they are requiring face coverings. Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members. Disney is asking that guests bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. Make sure to check out Disney’s official policy before you go to the parks.
