Disney Released Details on Rise of the Resistance Procedures for Reopening
The return to Galaxy’s Edge is coming on July 15th and a lot of guests have wondered how Disney was going to handle Rise of the Resistance. Disney has released details on Rise of the Resistance procedures for reopening.
Rise of the Resistance procedures for reopening will include the use of a virtual queue system. Guests will have the opportunity to request to join the virtual queue at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m. This means there is no need to arrive early to the park to check the virtual queue. This is a good thing because crowds were crazy early in the morning before the parks closed due to COVID19.
Virtual Queue System
Disney wants guests to keep a few things in mind if you are not familiar with the virtual queue system. Make sure you have the My Disney Experience app. Once you enter the park, log in to your account at one of the distribution times (10 a.m., 1 p.m. or 4 p.m.). Once you have logged in, select “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue” on the home screen. You will be able to view the current status and the next steps for joining the virtual queue.
My Disney Experience App Tips
The app will indicate when there is no availability for specific distribution times. Disney is using a backup group system as well so if you can’t get in the main groups you may be able to join a backup group. It is important to make sure your My Disney Experience account is linked to park tickets for you and the other members of your group.
Guests will be able to enroll everyone in the virtual queue at the same time. In order to give as many guests as possible the opportunity to enjoy the attraction, each guest can enter the virtual queue no more than once per day. This is the same as before the parks shut down.
Turn on Notifications
Make sure you turn on notifications for My Disney Experience so you will be alerted if your group is called to return. You’ll have up to an hour from the time of the alert to go to the entrance of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Just like before the shutdown joining the virtual queue does not guarantee the ability to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
