Savi’s Workshop will Reopen on September 20th

Savi’s Workshop will reopen on September 20th. Travelers will again get a chance to build custom lightsabers in Galaxy’s Edge. There is a possibility that Disney will do a soft opening. If there ends up being a soft opening we suspect that reservations will not be available for it. If you are planning a trip to Batuu during this time frame and want to visit Savi’s Workshop make sure you stop by and ask about any available walk-in reservations. May the Force be with you.

Savi's Workshop will reopen on September 20th.

The reopening of Disney Parks due to COVID-19 brought about many changes to park operations. One of those was the shutdown of Savi’s Workshop. Savi’s Workshop is a unique experience where travelers of Batuu get a chance to build custom lightsabers with the help of Gatherers.

The Cast Members who act as Gatherers are part of the Actor’s Equity Association which was in dispute with Disney over COVID-19 precautions. Disney and the Actor’s Equity have reached a compromise so Savi’s is free to open back up.

We are not sure what the changes to the experience will be but if we had to guess we would say that the show will mostly stay intact. Social distancing will be in effect and the experience may not be as intimate as a result.

Reservations

Reservations are highly recommended for Savi’s Workshop. Disney’s reservation system will open up on September 16th on Disneyworld.com or the My Disney Experience mobile app. You can also stop by the workshop to check for any walk-up availability on the day of your visit. You must have a valid Disney Parks Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios prior to making a reservation for Savi’s Workshop.
