The highly anticipated story trailer for Star Wars Squadrons was revealed today on the official EA Star Wars YouTube channel. The game is set to launch later this year on October 2nd. 

What We Noticed

After we viewed the Star Wars Squadrons story trailer we noticed a few key characters that we wanted to point out. In one scene Rebellion leaders are having a briefing and standing at the table we see Hera Syndulla. Hera is featured in the Star Wars animated series Rebels. She plays a big part in the Galactic Civil War and is an important leader of the Rebellion.

We also spotted Wedge Antilles flying in an X-Wing. Wedge fought in the Galactic Civil War in the Battle of Yavin. He was a member of Red Squadron and flew alongside Luke Skywalker. 

Game Mechanics

Star Wars Squadrons is a first-person 5v5 multiplayer dogfight style game. Players can also experience an exciting single-player storyline. Players can take control of different classes of starfighters such as the X-Wing, TIE fighter, TIE bomber, and an A-Wing. 

The campaign is set near the end of the Galactic Civil War. Players can plan skirmishes in the briefing room and then take them out onto the battlefield; play in multiplayer mode or experience the game as a single-player, and earn rewards throughout the game that allow you to customize weapons, hulls, engines, shields, and earn cosmetic items. 

Gameplay Options

Star Wars Squadrons will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Origin PC, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Virtual Reality (VR) on PlayStation 4 and PC with cross-play support. The game is now available for pre-order.
