The Star Wars Holiday Special returns sort of…This November the Star Wars Holiday Special will air on Disney+ but not how you might think, it will be made of LEGO bricks. The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special will be an animated 45-minute adventure that will feature Rey, Finn, Poe, and Rose as they help Chewbacca get back to his home planet of Kashyyyk in time to celebrate Life Day with his family.
What is Life Day?
Life Day is a holiday observed by the Wookiees on their home planet of Kashyyyk.Life Day celebrates the values of Wookiee culture, including family, joy, and harmony. Life Day celebrations include a feast and journey to the Tree of Life, which represents the first seed and spark of life on Kashyyyk.
Life Day recently became canon in the new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Travelers Guide to Batuu, where the holiday is mentioned as a local celebration on Batuu where locals celebrate peace, harmony, and freedom for all beings no matter how different they may appear.
The Original Holiday Special
A lot of fans have heard about the Star Wars Holiday Special but most likely haven’t seen it in its entirety. The original Star Wars Holiday Special which premiered in 1978 only aired once on television. The holiday special is a piece of Star Wars history that got swept under the rug. The special featured all of your favorite Star Wars characters celebrating the Wookiee holiday of Life Day. Pieces of the holiday special have made their way into canon such as the first appearance of Boba Fett but most of it is not talked about.
What We Know About The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special
