Next time you head to Galaxy’s Edge be on the lookout for a Blue-haired young woman sneaking around and looking rather suspicious. Vi Moradi is General Organa’s best spy and is sent to Batuu on a special mission to establish a Resistance outpost and recruit new members for the cause.

Who is Vi Moradi?

Vi Moradi is a spy for the Resistance during the war between the Galactic Republic and the First Order. She was created for the 2017 Delilah Dawson novel, Phasma, but now she makes her home on Batuu. Moradi is currently trying to gather recruits and find reinforcements for the Resistance in Black Spire Outpost. She spends her time hiding from Stormtroopers, sneaking around the area, avoiding Kylo Ren, and looking for anyone and everyone who may be a rebel like her.

Vi is from the planet Chaaktil, a desert planet located in the Outer Rim territories. She doesn’t mention much about her childhood, but the conditions on her home planet were less than ideal. She has been involved with the Resistance for a while now and has proven her loyalty time and time again. General Organa trusts her and knows if she assigns her a mission it will get accomplished no matter what obstacles stand in her way.

Other Appearances

Phasma

Vi makes a few appearances outside of Galaxy’s Edge. Her first appearance in the canon is as one of the featured characters in Delilah Dawson’s novel Phasma, where she is tortured by Captain Cardinal for information to take down his foe Captain Phasma. Vi is a survivor and we see that in this book with the things she goes through.

Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire

The story of how Vi ends up on Batuu is fleshed out in the Delilah Dawson Novel. General Organa asks Vi to set up a Resistance outpost on the outer rim planet of Batuu. Vi doesn’t know why Organa wants to set up shop on Batuu but she trusts Leia and her leadership. Leia partners her up with an unlikely ally, Archex aka Captain Cardinal.

Allegiance 1

Allegiance 1 is the first comic in a mini-series called Star Wars: Allegiance. Vi Moradi is briefly mentioned in this issue. General Jonato informs General Leia Organa of the status of current missions and says that Vi Moradi is still searching for a more permanent base.

Black Spire Outpost

While exploring Batuu, usually by the Market shops or near the Resistance encampment, you may run into to Vi Moradi. Depending on her mission status or how clear your allegiance is to the Resistance, she’ll chat you up, try to recruit you to the cause, or even pose for a scan.

Overall Thoughts

Vi is often described as the female Poe Dameron because of her humor, ego, and talent. Vi demonstrates time and time again that she is willing to do whatever she has to do to make the mission a success. She has been tortured, shot at, and poisoned but still manages to stay ahead of the First Order.

I enjoyed reading about her adventures in Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire. She put her issues aside with Archex and made the best out of a bad situation. She was able to set up a Resistance base and recruit a few of the locals despite all the setbacks she faced. At one point in the book, Vi finally is able to reach General Organa and give her a long-overdue update.

Vi begs for assistance and lays out her desperation to Organa. Organa tells her she can’t help her because resources are spread thin. Vi is practically in tears but is able to overcome her emotions, dig deep, and keep pushing forward. That section in the book revealed to me the kind of person Vi really is, and I really enjoyed how much she cares for the people she’s trying to help.
