Jedi Temple Challenge Release Date Announced

The first Star Wars game show, Jedi Temple Challenge, now has a release date! Announced today on StarWars.com, Jedi Temple Challenge is a Legends of the Hidden Temple style game show set in the Star Wars universe. The series debuts on June 3rd.

Platform Changed

In addition to the Jedi Temple Challenge release date announcement, today’s news also includes a platform change. Originally, the series was set for Disney+. The series will now air on YouTube, debuting on the Star Wars Kids channel. Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content & Programming, Mickey Capoferri explained the change: “With so many children and families home and looking to Star Wars for hope and entertainment, we wanted to make Jedi Temple Challenge available to as many young fans as possible by airing the series on our Star Wars Kids network for everyone to enjoy.”

Given that Disney+ has aggregated other Star Wars Kids content, expect the episodes to end up on the service eventually.

Ahmed Best Returns

Actor Ahmed Best returns to the Star Wars galaxy for this show, but not in his usual role. Best will portray Jedi Master Kelleran Beq, a new character created for the show. The actor is best known for his portray of Jar Jar Binks in the prequel trilogy. Veteran Star Wars voice actor Sam Witwer will also be appearing on the show.
