Massive Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO Master Builder set announced

The rumors are true! LEGO has officially announced the Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO Master Builder set! Set number 75290 will retail for $349.99 and has 3,187 pieces including 21(!) minifigures. It releases wide on October 1st, but LEGO VIPs will have access starting next week on September 16th.

Key Features

Full Bar

A full Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO set bar

What’s great about this set is it features the entire wrap-around bar seen in Episode IV: A New Hope. The set opens up so you can interact with both sides of the bar as well, giving you a full view of the alcove booths, including the Han/Greedo scene. Unfortunately, the build does not include a large enough table for Han to hide his blaster under, but given the amount of highlights in this set that can be forgiven.

8 New Minifigures

The new Mos Eisley Cantino LEGO Master Builder set features a total of 21 minifigures, with 8 of them being brand new figures including Ponda Boba, Garindan the Imperial Spy, and the Devaronian Kardue’sai’Malloc (red guy with horns).

Not A UCS Set

It’s important to note that the Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO set is NOT part of the Ultimate Collectors Series line. That line is traditionally reserved for large scale versions of ships like the recently released A-Wing. Instead, this set is part of the Master Builder Series line. The MBS branding isn’t used often, but with LEGO’s new focus on the 18+ market, that may be changing.
